Privacy Policy

GotLaid (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates a job-discovery directory connecting candidates who have recently been laid off with recruiters actively hiring. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

1. Information we collect

• Account details: name, email address, role (candidate or recruiter), and the OAuth identifier returned by your sign-in provider.
• Candidate profile: last position, employer, layoff date, experience range, expected compensation, skills, resume, LinkedIn URL, and any optional portfolio links you provide.
• Recruiter profile: company name, work email, position, and LinkedIn URL.
• Usage data: pages viewed, filters applied, candidates saved or contacted, and timestamps required to operate features such as activity feeds and rate-limits.

2. How we use information

• To create and maintain your account.
• To surface relevant candidates to recruiters and to inform candidates when recruiters view or save their profile.
• To verify identity, prevent fraud, and enforce platform rules.
• To communicate important account or service notices.
• To improve the product through aggregated, non-personally-identifying analytics.

3. Sharing

Candidate profiles are visible to verified recruiters who sign up using a corporate work email. We never sell personal data. We share data with service providers (hosting, authentication, analytics) strictly under contracts that limit them to processing on our behalf.

4. Your rights

• Access & download: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: update inaccurate profile information directly in the app or by contacting support.
• Deletion: request closure of your account and deletion of personal data, subject to limited legal retention requirements.
• Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

5. Data retention

We retain account and profile data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward so you can reactivate. Audit logs (sign-ins, outreach, saves) are retained for up to 24 months for safety and abuse prevention.

6. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS in transit, encryption at rest where supported by our providers, and least-privilege access controls on internal tooling. No system is perfectly secure; report suspected vulnerabilities to security@gotlaid.com.

7. Children

GotLaid is not directed to anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app at least 14 days before they take effect.
